The smartSCHANK assistant is the small but extremely powerful “brain” for dispensing systems – in any kind of restaurants and catering businesses of any size. The assistant logs serving volumes and maximises profitability and even service quality.

The smartSCHANK assistant is connected to the existing interface that leads from the till system to the receipt printer. Therefore, it can be integrated into existing systems easily and is generally ready to use within 10 minutes. The smartSCHANK assistant usually recognizes all connected devices and weighing units – including (e.g.) coffee systems and coffee grinders with a serial interface (CSI, WMF).

The restaurateur needs reassurance: booked drinks really are served, and the staff can pour only booked drinks. Thanks to intelligent networking, all credits are available at every activated dispensing station, which ensures optimal operation, especially in large gastronomic businesses.

The smartSCHANK assistant works hand in hand with your till system and inventory management system, due to exact registration of served quantities. Settlements can be sent by e-mail upon request.

The smartSCHANK assistant’s display informs quickly and in real time about open or already over-dispensed orders:

  • If the drink appears on a green background, it must be prepared next.
  • If the drink appears on a red background, it was served but not yet booked. It must be rebooked. Without a subsequent booking, the final bill shows a profit loss.
  • Neutral (gray) drinks in the “pool view” mean that all booked drinks were tapped correctly.

Due to the integrated journal function, the presentation process is traceable.

With the smartSCHANK assistant, you always keep track of booked drinks at the counter – as well as drinks that have not been properly tapped. You can save yourself unnecessary trouble, a lot of time and precious energy!

Online protocol upon request: the smartSCHANK assistant can provide all the data on billing, errors, technical information and subsequent orders.

If a hot beverage has been booked, it appears in green as a credit on the beverage prep list. The beverage staff can thus prepare orders for one check simultaneously.

At the beer tap ordered amounts are shown. It is possible to preset dispensing volumes with an acceptable range of tolerance. Dark shaded bars indicate „active“ tapping.

Hot drinks made, but not added to the checks, are marked in red and shown as negatives in the list.

Beverage amounts already tapped, but not yet added to the check, are displayed by the flowmeter as the current overage in red.

Integration and installation

The smartSCHANK assistant can easily be integrated into existing systems – without visible changes and without additional costs. The following installation information is universal. Installation can be realised according to customer’s request and needs.

Installation

  • Step 1: Generally, the smartSCHANK assistant is connected to the existing interface that leads from the till system to the receipt printer. It can also be connected to other standard interfaces. Once integrated, the assistant collects all data about booked drinks.
  • Step 2: Beverage lines are equipped with flow meters that supply the smartSCHANK assistant with data about tapped volumes.
  • Step 3: The system is connected either in parallel mode or with a second device with hot drink machines (full and semi-automatic machines or coffee grinders). The smartSCHANK assistant is compatible with devices of different manufacturers and is generally ready for use within 10 minutes.

Integration

Once all required cables are laid, flow meters and system components are installed, the smartSCHANK assistant detects many devices when running up the first time. Integrated assistants are configuring the devices with some clicks. After 10 minutes, all desired beverage articles can be determined. Drinks are assigned quickly and easily, so that the boss himself can do later additions.

In order to work with the smartSCHANK assistant, there is no need to plan any training period for the staff, because the workflow will not be changed. The handling was designed deliberately uncomplicated.

In addition to the printed receipt, the order is automatically displayed on the counter. The smartSCHANK assistant provides support for the staff, by constantly displaying the booked drinks on the counter and helps to always provide the best in drink and service quality. The assistant makes the work much easier because it also registers all cash and tapping movements and facilitates the cash up in the evening.
